Testing, testing. Is this working?

I'm starting this blog to keep a record of things, since I enjoy keeping records of things online, but don't enjoy posting LOOK AT ME!!! posts on Facebook.

My name is Kelly. I have a ten month old baby, Keller. I did not choose his name (my husband, we'll call him "J," did).

I feel very, very, very lucky to have the awesome life I do. Thanks, J! :)  And Keller, or "K," for being such a happy and smiley baby. Oh! Also, there's Nissa. Or "N." She's our ten year old border collie.

Quick history:

I lived in the Park Ave neighborhood for ten years before moving three years ago out to the country. And I mean country. We don't have curtains on our windows. We live on 17 acres but our neighbors live on hundreds of acres. Most days (all days?) I see more deer than people.

I am currently a stay at home mom who teaches an occasional violin/viola/guitar lesson and does an occasional conducting gig. I love conducting. I love wood working. I make signs and blocks and frames and planters. I love plants.

I love cooking. I wrote a cookbook about six years ago. Eventually I'll put up the link. Since then I've become a gluten free vegan. Oh, except when I was pregnant.

Yes, I was pregnant. It was the worst nine months of my life. For the first five, I cried in bed all day. Then the last four, I ate with a vengeance. I don't even know what that means, but, I think I did. I gained 52 pounds. But, then I lost it. It took a long, long, long, long time. Well, ten months. So, now that I'm done with that, I wanted to start this blog to keep track of my cute baby, recipes, crafting, etc.

So here we go!
