#41 United States of America: apple pie

There is little cuter than a two year old saying "apple pie? apple pie? apple pie" for hours a day after you make an apple pie!

That being said, I am not a baker. Yes, I did make this apple pie, but, it was not fabulous. So, I highly suggest you google your own recipe! But, here was mine, just in case you need a starting point. The filling was good, but the topping... eh.

Apple Pie

Ingredients:

1 pre-made pie crust (I used a gluten free vegan one from Wegmans)

8 apples, cored, peeled, and sliced thin
2 cups of apple butter (we made ours last summer)

topping (could use revising):
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup Namaste baking mix
1/2 cup butter

Directions:

Mix the apple splices and apple butter together. Spread out into pie crust. Mix the topping ingredients together and pour on top. Use hands to cover entire pie. Bake at 375F for 1 hour.

It is better the next day, honestly! After sitting out overnight, the filling was very tasty. Again, the top part... eh. Cover with So Delicious whipped cream.
