#49 Denmark: burning love
This translates to "Burning Love." Weird. It's apparently a very, very old Danish recipe. It's basically mashed potatoes with sautéed onions, bacon if you want, and fresh parsely. Very Scandinavian. Serve burning-hot for authenticity.
Burning Love
Ingredients:
potatoes for boiling
milk & butter for mashing potatoes (I used almond milk and Earth Balance vegan butter)
salt & pepper
onions for frying
oil or butter for frying
fresh parsley, minced, for sprinkling on top
bacon bits, or real bacon, if you are into that
Directions:
Choose how many potatoes you want. Peel and boil them. Mash them with milk and butter of your choice. Season with salt and pepper. While boiling, dice and fry onions, and mince your parsley. When potatoes are mashed, serve with onions, parsley, and bacon bits if you want. I hear they are vegan. I almost bought some, but then, I looked at the ingredients and it seemed like they were entire made of chemicals.
