#27 Egypt: falafel


Falafel was invented in Egypt! Apparently many middle eastern countries like to take credit for it, and certainly most of them use it in much of their cuisine!, but! it was invented in Egypt. According to the internet.

I have tried SEVERAL times to make falafel from scratch and it is never very good. So, we get ours from Cosco in a large bin, and freeze it until wanted. Which is often, because it is so good!

Traditionally, it is served in a pita with lettuce, tomato, onion, and whatever that amazing white sauce is.... yum. I serve mine on a gluten free wrap with vegan ranch dressing.
